SOCIAL , CULTURAL, DEMOGRAPHIC AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES

Have a major impact on virtually all products, services, markets, and customers, also all industries challenged by opportunities and threats arising from social, cultural etc..As a result, we show the key variables about social, cultural, demographic and evironment.

1. Childbearing rates: The birth rate in Colombia has presented decayed trajectory and this is not only in Colombia also in different countries around the world, which is generating population decline, which, affects our organization duo the fact that our chargers are aimed to society.

This entry gives the average annual number of births during a year per 1,000 persons in the population at midyear; also known as crude birth rate. The birth rate is usually the dominant factor in determining the rate of population growth. It depends on both the level of fertility and the age structure of the population.

2.Number of special interest groups: Any person in the society that has an electronic device with the same charging structure of the Android, will be interested in our products and will affect us in a positive way, increasing our production of chargers developing an advance in our operations, giving us position in the chargerā€™s market, catching the attention of investors.

3.Number of death: The number of death rate in Colombia has been decaying through years, not only in Colombia also in other countries. Our chargers are related with all the people in the world, so it affects our organization because we are losing customers.

- 5.4 deaths/1,000 population (2015 est.)

This entry gives the average annual number of deaths during a year per 1,000 population at midyear; also known as crude death rate. The death rate, while only a rough indicator of the mortality situation in a country, accurately indicates the current mortality impact on population growth. This indicator is significantly affected by age distribution, and most countries will eventually show a rise in the overall death rate, in spite of continued decline in mortality at all ages, as declining fertility results in an aging population.

4. Immigration and emigration rates:  -0.65 migrant(s)/1,000 population (2014 est.)

This variable has an impact on our organization because a high level of migration can increase the unemployment or reduce the labor force, affecting the economy and the reducing our sales.

The net migration rate indicates the contribution of migration to the overall level of population change. High levels of migration can cause problems such as increasing unemployment and potential ethnic strife (if people are coming in) or a reduction in the labor force, perhaps in certain key sectors (if people are leaving).

http://www.indexmundi.com/colombia/net_migration_rate.html

5. Social security programs: "It is the protection which society provides for its members through a series of public measures against economic and social deprivation which, otherwise, would eliminate or substantial reduction of income due to illness, maternity etc .. ". http://www.monografias.com/trabajos13/segsocdf/segsocdf.shtml#DEFIN#ixzz407DCBk2g

Payroll Management

ā€¢ Settlement regular payroll (salary)

ā€¢ Method of salary

ā€¢ Protection of Wages (Sunday, discounts, surcharges, transport assistance, overtime)

ā€¢ Permitted and / or prohibited.

ā€¢ Borrowing Capacity

ā€¢ Payment of severance pay and interest on severance and contributions to social security.

ā€¢ Settlement holidays and raw

ā€¢ Shoes and clothing of Labor

ā€¢ Suspension of employment contract or disciplinary process.

ā€¢ Variable compensation, payroll taxes.

Industry could affect in two ways; positively because employees who are hired are very few and may have fewer payroll and social security, On the other hand it is negative because having much machinery employees could have an accident and could affect the company either the image having a compensation from the employee or demand for this problem.

6. Life expectancy rates: This variable contains the average number of years of life for a group of people born in the same year, if mortality at each age remains constant in the future. It includes total population. http://www.indexmundi.com/es/colombia/expectativa_de_vida_al_nacer.html

affect the company negatively as the mortality rate in 2015 dropped compared to the last 10 years that our company has to consider that the products should be measured according to the average mortality of the region in which located.

7.Per capita income : It is gross domestic product divided by midyear population. GDP is the sum of gross value added by all resident producers in the economy plus any product taxes, less any subsidies not included in the value of the products.

SOURCE:  datos.bancomundial.org/indicador/NY.GDP.PCAP.CD

Their analysis is vital and shows positive correlation with broader development, such as the Human Development Index (HDI) measures. Colombia faces downside risks to growth ranges 3.5% -4% annually during 2015-2020 because the agro-industry sectors do not look ready to compensate for the fall mineroenergƩtica, also delays approximately 15 years. The goals had been achieved in domestic agenda.

This affects us negatively our industry because the lower the GDP in 2015 (figure 1) our industry could also decline as the economy depends on other factors that increase over GDP.

8.Location of retailing, manufacturing and services business

Location of reatiling: In Colombia, traditional formats still have a special place in the buying habits of consumers. It is estimated that the country has 3 million square meters of sales area in non-specialized stores or sell many categories of items, and that two-thirds (2 million square meters) correspond to that format.  SOURCE:http://www.sgs.co/es-ES/Industrial-Manufacturing.aspx

manufacturing and services business: Industrial production covers a wide range of business areas from pharmaceuticals machinery etc ... Manufacturing is always complex, it requires great attention to standards and regulations and requires compliance with the legislation on quality, health and safety, and often with international regulations also brings a comprehensive package of services so that manufacturing processes are developed

It affects positively because the industry has wholesale and retail, which in Colombia unit figures are well above market and give the economy a favorable value. In addition, manufacturing industries contribute to increase the value and production of this industry and generate more benefits make products with high quality, innovation, efficiency and effectiveness in hundreds of products out.

9. Attitudes toward business :One of the best business strategies in terms of results, it is one where natural skills merge with good working environments producing results efficiently and effectively and commitment.

Every year Manpower conducted a survey "Talent Shortage" to know what difficulties encountered by businesses to find people with the skills and competencies required accurate. In 2015 we interviewed 750 employees in Colombia. The results show that the ten most difficult to fill vacancies in our country are: engineers, technicians, managers, machine operators, sales managers, etc ...

Affecting the industry since people must maintain a positive organizational climate if not no miscommunication which would cause fights and gone wrong product, what to do is empower people to have a very good working environment and so the company will have efficiency and effectiveness of the product and its employees.

10. Lifestyles: Bogota is the capital and largest city in Colombia. Rallying point for people around the country is diverse and multicultural and modern buildings in it are combined with others that evoke the colonial past. It is green with its parks and the eastern hills overlooking the sanctuaries of Monserrate and Guadalupe. Business and office parks are entrepreneurs from all over the world, Corferias houses the main shopping and business fairs in the country and the hotel is varied and distributed in tourist, cultural and business sectors of the city. Bogota is simply the union of all the best of Colombia, is an infinite place to meet. Several festivals such as INDIBO among others. And beautiful tourist centers such as museums, parks etc ...

positively affect our industry because the new style is based on the globalization that is everyone has wanted something better in the world of technology so the industry benefits; the more products you buy, the greater the gain and sale.

11. Traffic congestion: Traffic congestion in BogotĆ” is increasingly unbearable, the problem is and anytime and anywhere in the city, because almost all roads remain crowded with vehicles. Every day we have to leave with a greater advance if we want to get to work or to a compromise on time and arm ourselves with patience and a radio or music player. Mobility has also declined increasingly and even more for the user of public transport. This is due in large part to transport routes through the arteries higher flow paths precisely the most afflicted by congestion also reflected in the timeout users transmilenio

Negatively affects the industry is because retail car movement can be expected as long to get our products, plus there are a lot of people is congested and does it flow transport and loading of products.

12.INNER-CITY ENVIRONMENTS  In Bogota there exists different kind of inner-city environments.

Most of them are artistic neighbors, like Usaquen, candelaria, or in other cases neighborhoods for restaurant and bar areas as may be the around 85th street, Zona G, as we said it before Usaquen, and Zone T. In the other hand some of the neighborhoods are inhabited by homeless people such as Bronx or El Cartucho. Our company, for publicity of it product must take this into account to generate a major impact in the society, and also because neighborhoods like we said it before are major visited and can help to promote our product.

13.AVERAGE DISPOSABLE INCOME: Disposable income is defined as the amount of money households have available for either spending or saving after their taxes have been accounted for. The following table shows the indicators of disposable income since 2013- 2016 in Colombia (figure 1):

Taked: http://www.euromonitor.com/colombia/country-factfile

Disposable income is defined as the amount of money households have available for either spending or saving after their taxes have been accounted for. The Colombian populationā€™s disposable income 10 percent of the population whose income is exactly in the middle of the major economies in Latin America.

There, the signature indicates that while the percentage of the population belonging to the middle class of the country perceives around $ 9.944,6 per year (about 1'596.490 pesos per month). A recent World Bank report found that Colombia is 31 in the world economy, but is ranked 95 in terms of purchasing power.Indeed, this is not the first time that the country noted for its low income. In fact, in the bigger picture, the World Bank data for the local market positioned below the Latin American per capita income, because while this amounts to $ 9,575 in the region, the figure is just $ 7,748 in Colombia. Also, a recent study revealed that in urban areas 26% of the population tends to save their disposable income while in rural areas only 15% of the population does so. It was also discovered that the segment of the population belonging to social class types (ā€œestratosā€) 2 and 3 tend to save between 19% and 23% of their incomes, respectively. Furthermore, the people belonging to the social class types 4 and 5 usually save between 34% and 37% of their incomes. Taking into account this rates, into our company we will be focused at middle to upper class citizens, which are the ones that mostly have a technological device even if their incomes are low or high, the portable charger is a device which could be afford for all class.

14. TRUST IN GOVERNMENT AND TOWARD GOVERNMENT

Based on the survey ā€œColombia, Opinaā€ the three institutions in which Colombians less trust is the Government that passed from 42 % to 34 %, followed by the Justice with 22 % compared to 29 % and the Congress of the Republic which has only a 14 % confidence, compared with 25 % that had before. President Santos has a favorable image of 40% and 56% unfavorable; 4% answered " do not know, no opinion" . This indicates that the attitude toward the president in the majority of people is unsatisfied, because he has not accomplish all the promises and expressing that Colombia is going to a bad path if we continue in this way. Most Colombians believe more in the Catholic Church, the Armed Forces, the National Police, the media and political parties in the High Courts . This aspect is not a treat for our company because the goverment trust does not affect the thoughts of our customers. 15.ATTITUDES TOWARD WORK

Colombia is one of the countries with higher level of unemployment  in Lation America. Colombiaā€™s unemployment rate is so high because of the lack of education. According to the bulletin of DANE this has been changed , the unemployment rate is not only reduced to 8.9 percent in December 2015 but also fell below the national total which is 9.3 percent quarterly, Colombia generate around 545 milion of new employees.  Likewise being ā€œcoffee threshing is the activity where more has increased employment (12%), while the production of clothing recorded growth of 6.1%, the largest contributor to total job creation in the industryā€. (Dinero Pais, 2015)

In addition, La Camara de Comercio of Bogota stablished that 45% of the population of working age is between 27 and 44 years old; 24% between 16 and 26 years; 17% corresponds to age 50.

According to the Global Competitiveness Report 2014-2015 of the World Economic Forum, Bogota young and qualified workforce of more than 4.5 million people ensures the scalability of any operation. Colombia has one of the most efficient labor markets in Latin America being 45% of the population of working age is between 27 and 44 years old. The unemployment in Colombia is not a fact that would affect our company because at the first moment until the end we need employees in our company, so if people are looking for job that would benefit the company in a good way. 16. BUYING HABITS

According to the different buying habits within the people there must appear potential clients that may help us to redefine our target. This is why the company must monitor changing buying habits and flexibility is important to adapt to changing customer likes and preferences. These preferences may also help to shape the service offered to receive more acceptance from public and increase the number of customers and satisfaction from this.

According to the economic director of Fenalco, Rafael EspaƱa he said that the top  trends would govern consumers in Colombia:

1. Careful consumption, tis factor is the intention of consumers to direct their purchases brands that care about their environment.

2. Health, which means, healthy food, physical activity as spa, gym etc. Is a principal issue for the consumer.

And some other consumer segmented trends and habits, according to euromonitor, that need to be taken into account because may affect our company directly or indirectly are:

Young Adults:

ā€¢Spending habits vary according to income levels

Mid Lifers:

ā€¢Rich Mid-Lifers driving luxury spending

These trends could affect our company in a good way, the most important that our company must consider are the luxury market which is centralized in our industry in the way of having luxury stuff with low prices.

17. ETHICAL CONCERNS

The Colombian population has been constantly struck throughout its history with corruption scandals, malpractices in business, and a series of scams. Unfortunately, Colombia seems to be undergoing an ā€œethics crisisā€, due to the lack of social responsibility from many companies and government entities. The levels of dissatisfaction and lack of belief in the legal systems and business initiatives are constantly on the rise. Therefore, it is important for all new business initiatives to set an example in terms of values, good practices and social responsibility. Easy charger as an organization that provides helps and quickness to customers, will have to commit to delivering a transparent and ethical product with a perfect service. During the implementation of the business EasyCharger will be strictly follow legal and ethical guidelines.

18. ATTITUD TOWARD SAVING:

Unfortunately in Colombia people donā€™t know how to manage their money. A recent study made by the World Bank determined that only 2 out of 10 Colombians have enough savings to cope with an unexpected expense, the other eight people live with a daily living. ā€œThe study also indicated that 67% of the Colombian population surveyed said that in the last 12 months, their income wasnā€™t enough to cover their expensesā€. The Ministry of Education, the Superintendence of Banking and the Association of Banks (Asbanc), because of this financial situation, have decided to implement financial education in public schools, so youngsters can take better decisions on their personal and familiar finances in the future.

This would affect our industry because the people dont invest in tenchnological things that are innecesary for their lifes.

The graphic below shows a survey made to 1261 people asking them about their attitudes toward savings, if they do save or not, and how

19. SEX ROLES

Gender roles refer to the set of social and behavioral norms that are considered to be socially appropriate for individuals of a specific sex. There has been significant variation in gender roles over cultural and historical spans, and all gender roles are culturally and historically contingent.

The national trend toward a total integration of gender roles is reflected in women's education, professional achievement, and family income contributions. Currently, more women than men are enrolled in college, and women are expected to earn more graduate degrees than men over the next several years. In 2015, 22% of American households had two income earners, which suggests the presence of women in the workforce.

20. ATTITUDES TOWARD INVESTING

Attitudes toward investing are how a region or a community spends its savings.

Overconfidence, high risk appetite , little patience and preference for the known assets are only four features that define the profile of the Colombian investor , both empirical and professional , and do not always take them to make decisions favorable results for their pockets.

An article of El Tiempo, establish 4 types of investors in Colombia:

1.The explorer: they are familiarize with the market, but they take emotional decisions. They have good perspectives of risks and opportunities of the market.

2.The intuitive: they usually take emotional decision, they are influenced by the current market development, which makes them loose their initial investment objectives.

3.The realists: they won't be influenced by their emotions, but they lack knowledge in order to asses adequately the risks and opportunities of the market.

4.The strategic: these investors have a great knowledge of the financial markets, and the won't be influence by their emotions.

21. RACIAL EQUALITY

Bogota wants to be a city without discrimination, for that reason in its plan ā€œBogota Humanaā€ proposed a program that not only want racial equality, but also want equality between all people. This plan will be accomplished by education, more opportunities to all socioeconomic groups, extending the coverage of public services and by promoting free expression. More groups will exercise and there will be more equality so BogotĆ” per capita income will grow and will dispose more money to spend

(Bogota, A. d. (2012). Plan de desarrollo 2012-2016 Bogota Humana. .http://idrd.gov.co/sitio/idrd/Documentos/PLAN-DESARROLLO2012-2016.pdf)

22. USE OF BIRTH CONTROL

The use of birth methods increased on women 0,6% in 2010 and in a survey developed by the ENDS 81% of women between 15 to 49 years old are using this methods.

23. Social programs

The plan Colombia as the most important social program that are looking for the commerce and investment to Colombia from USA, the plan will be modified because the peace process are going forward, the progress of the plan are important to the industry because are affecting the competition of the industry adding international companies to Colombia, and are affecting positively for the trade of products, the part of USA are very interested of the developing of Colombia: The Secretary of State insisted that his country is " very involved in the success of the process and Colombia " . He also said that this is extremely useful for the entire hemisphere and the region.

Bogota humana itā€™s a social program that born in the government of Gustavo Petro and the meaning of the plan was to give more opportunities and help to the people of poor recourses, this affect the industry by a good way because the level of labor and culture are increasing, and the homicide rate are decreasing, ā€œSocial investment has given us results in a decrease in the homicide rate

ā€

(RAMOS, 2015) (COLPRENSA, 2015)

24. Social responsibility

ā€œIn Colombia there are still not socially responsible companiesā€, The social responsibility in Colombia are not important to the companies, they only take care of gaining competitive advantage and the profits on the end of the year, in that order on ideas, the companies that are social responsible are that are sensitive to the surrounding society, and looks beyond their own benefit and compensates the impact that its activities, they want to throw back the value that the society give to them, the authors of the book ā€œcorporate social responsibilityā€ explain how the Colombian companies are so far to be social responsible. (Medina, 2013)

25.Attitudes toward careers

The people that in Colombia that are recent graduates are who look to a job with a good remuneration and that affects the quantity of students to choose a career, our industry are looking for careers related with marketing to penetrate the market and electrical engineering for develop innovating products to sent to the market, in that order of ideas the demand of that careers in the industry are really high and in relation of the remuneration, that are in the top 10 careers more remunerated in Colombia.

(PINZON, n.d.)

26. Population changes by race, age, sex, and level of affluence

In 2005, the DANE results of the population by gen and age, the results are that a big part of the population are in a range of 20-24 years old, and as a result of an inquest in 2015 to 1000 persons in Bogota the ā€œ57 percent of people under 24 consult their phone more than 50 times in one dayā€, the poblation target segmentation of our industry are the people between 15-24 years old, ā€œCompared to 2014 , the use of smartphones in the country increased by 35 percentā€ (TECNOSFERA, 2016)

 27. Number of women and minority workers

Afro-Colombians are approximately a quarter of the entire population, but represent well over three quarters of the poor. On average Afro-Colombians earn $500 a year compared to $1,500 dollars for their white/mestizo counterparts (Dollar & Sense 2007). The lack of economic opportunities for blacks is paradoxical because Afro-Colombians, have educational performance levels that are equal to or greater than other ethnic groups in the country. According to recent World Bank reports, Afro-Colombians attend primary schools at a level higher than the national average, with 42 percent of blacks in school compared to 32 percent of all Colombians, but black students are less likely to attend high school, because secondary education is available to only 62 percent of Afro-Colombians compared to 75 percent of all Colombians.

28. Waste management

The Ministry of Environment was established in 1993 after the issuing of the new Constitution in 1991 and environmental policies and regulation became in progress. In 1998, the policy for a comprehensive solid waste management was adopted, which includes two main relevant components, the governmentā€™s responsibility for improving the solid waste management and the private sectorā€™s responsibility for implementing cleaner production processes. In the policy, solid waste management was conceived under four pillars: solid waste prevention, recycling, treatment and final disposal. On the other hand, it set up life cycle analysis as the fundamental tool to the cleaner production action plans design. Regulation (Decree 1713) delivered as a result of the policy implementation, forced each municipality to design and carry out a solid waste management plan for a short, medium and long term. Nowadays, most of the plans have been prepared but only a few have been implemented. Later, in 2008 the National Council for Economic and Social Policies launched the CONPES 3530, with the purpose of strengthen a comprehensive solid waste management as a utility service through regulation development, local solid waste administrator guidance, regional final disposal strategies and feasible recycling systems implementation.

In 2008 the National Council for Economic and Social Policies launched the CONPES 3530, with the purpose of strengthen a comprehensive solid waste management as a utility service through regulation development, local solid waste administrator guidance, regional final disposal strategies and feasible recycling systems implementation.

There are 1206 providers of the solid waste management (SSPD, 2010), more than 60% of the population is attended by private or mixed capital companies (EconometrĆa, 2008).

Although, waste management in Colombia has positively evolved during the last 20 years, there are many challenges to be managed, some of them are: i) the provision of higher quality solutions for smaller municipalities, ii) promoting management organizations that recognize informal recyclers work, iii) increasing the sanitary landfillsā€™ technical specifications and improving technical operation, iv) advancing on adaptation climate change measures, for avoiding problems caused during the rain and dry periods, and v) increasing the solid waste recycling. Currently, Regulation Commission (CRA) is reviewing the price cap methodology and the inclusion of recyclable materials collection and transportation payment for recyclers.

29. Recycling

There are more than 100 associations that group around 5.000 recyclers (Aluna Consultores, 2011) and most of the recyclers do not belong to any association (v.gr. informal recyclers). Between 40% and 60% of the recycled solid waste are collected by recyclers (informal and formal) who carry out this activity for making a living. The difference is directly managed by the industry. Solid waste management utility companies do not used to perform recycling activities, they exceptionally provide selected collection to give the materials for recycling associations and in few cases they operate recycling plants. Main collected recyclable materials are metals (49,75%), paper and cardboard (35,01%), plastics (11,15%) and glass (4,09%) (Aluna Consultores, 2011). In relation with recyclers, some of the problems in the supply chain are: low revenues, involvement of children and lack of social security. The problems in the other parts of the chain are high levels of intermediation, high prices variability, lack of incentives to use recycled material, among others. Last year, the Supreme Court recognized, in the Auto 275, the informal recyclersā€™ rights in the solid waste management and their accomplished labor, so it ordered to implement affirmative actions for the recyclersā€™ protection. Currently, the national and Bogota governments are studying the mechanisms to put into operation the order.

Including the solid waste recycled by informal recyclers and industries (around 6.000 tons a day), 76% of solid wastes are disposed in landfills, around 19% are recycled, 1% are transported to recycling facilities operated by utility companies, 4% are disposed in illegal dumpsites, rivers or are fired in open areas.

Attitudes toward retirement

For women aged change to 55 at 57 also men changed to 60 at 62 years. In 2014 more than 25 weeks will be required, if we currently 1,275 increase to 1,300 weeks.. That it is important for every each industry in Colombia, because this knowledge allow knowing until what date our employees can work.

Attitudes toward Leisure time

Colombian people are not activity persons, actually they do not like to do activities outside home, well the major part of this, prefer to pass the day watching movies or TV in home. And rest all the weekend in front of TV, this important for our industry because allow to know which tendencies has Colombian people for the weekend or holiday, and this is favor to us because they use the technological devices to passed these days.

Attitudes Toward product quality.

Colombian people have different perspectives about the quality of the products in the first Colombia people do not believe in Colombian manufacturing, they always believe that the manufacturing industry is better whenever but not in Colombia, for the same reason Colombian people have some preferences    for some countries that others, and depends of the status that this country has with others.

30. Endagered species

Even though Colombia is among the top 12 most biologically diverse countries in the world, the lack of sustainable development and the over exploition of biologically diverse areas threatens both the flora and fauna of the country.

According to an article in El Tiempo, Colombia has the most unique species of birds and amphibians in the world. It is second in the world in the numbner of different plant species. It is third in the number of diverse mammals, and fourth in diversity of reptiles.

Illegal drug production poses one of the greatest threats to certain species, as it reduces natural habitats and contributes to the free-for-all killing of jaguars and other large mammal species.

In addition to the ecological threats posed by illegal drug production, the social conflict and the resulting lack of work opportunities has caused some of Colombia's population to turn to the hunting and trafficking of animals in order to make ends meet. At risk are parrots, turtles, tigrillos, racoons, and anteaters to name a few. Over 10 years ago, the BBC produced a report about the illegal animal trafficking from Colombia to points abroad. At that time, it was estimated that over 7 million animals were illegally tafficked each year.
